Suggestion for the monument

I suggest that we put the monument which is a statue of Tan Kah Kee near the hwachong's clock tower, probably in front of it as that would provide a 'bird's eye view' for the founder to see whats happening in hwa chong. Hwa Chong ians or visitors could also tell immediately that he is a important man for our school which fits the purpose of celebrating his success.

This is how i suggest the monument should look like.

There would be three statues of Tan Kah Kee, each of them represents his different generation of life. I chose his time as a successful buisnessman as I want people to know that although he is rich, he still donates generously.

I chose him as a youth as it shows us how tan kah kee used to have education like us but not as sophiscated like now. I decided to clad him in our uniform as this would give HwaChongians a sense of how close tan kah kee is with us. This also shows that he longed for education like now in his days.

I also chose the statue when he is old as this shows how generous he donated his money, resulting in his poor later years where he had not as much money that he used to have as all of them were donated for education purpose.

I also designed the hci logo with trees, rubber trees that were planted by his companyy which was so recognised then. This logo shows the bond between our school and his rubber company.

The above are my suggestions.
